Debbie's World

In what has been another tumultuous week in politics, I have today been pondering a little ( I must have too much time on my hands) on why people cannot accept that we all have a view, opinions and values. I watch what is going on and I see People becoming more and more intolerant of each other, I suppose those who shout loudest think they will get heard and sometimes they do, but shout to long and you lose impact.

The media has had this impact on me, I have stopped listening, call me old fashioned if you like but I find their approach aggressive, derogatory and at times verging on the abusive, I have now therefore metaphorically turned off the news.

In my mind a steady measured approach might take longer but it is a better strategy and by supporting, appreciating and listening to each other people can achieve so much more.

I can hear you say 'well that just burying your head in the sand' or 'thats a selfish attitude to take, the world's in big trouble' maybe I am, and maybe it is but at least I can remain reasonably happy in "Debbie's world" and I have other things that I really need to get on with.

At the moment Debbie's world includes a wonderful family (yes we all get on) fabulous friends and Ruby and George. They keep me calm, they make me laugh with their funny ways, they love me for who I am and they forgive me if I have an off day. Debbie's world isn't perfect, I dont have complete control over it and I know that one day it will be shattered but that is why, for me, it is important to live for today, because at the moment that's all we have.

Now my reflection on life is over and I hope you stayed with me I had a real surprise yesterday when handsome Boy George (also known as deadpan amongst other things) was awarded Reserve Best In Show in the Milgi coats on line show (with the gorgeous Peggy Lurcher adored by Gary and Sue being awarded Best in Show).

Apart from a super rosette Kathryn (Proprietor of Milgi Coats and a wonderful advocate for older hounds) will also give the sighthound charity of my choice £30.00 and on this occasion, in memory of my rainbow bridge hounds Miss Maggie and Mr Duskey ( who have also won rosettes) I have asked if it can be donated to Kims Home for elderly/abused dogs.

These are just 2 of Kim's aims taken from her website:

To provide lifelong sanctuary to elderly and/or abused dogs who cannot be rehomed in a caring, comfortable home with good food, appropriate veterinary treatment and exercise.

To provide temporary sanctuary to sighthounds in need – whether homeless, sick, abused, threatened with euthanasia – while waiting for rescue place or forever home.

Please have a look at the website and facebook page to see what she is all about, it really is wonderful and if Hubby moved out my house would definitely resemble hers, well done Kim for looking after the oldies.

Todays Picture is of the lovely Peggy from being unwanted and unloved to adored and cherished.

How good is that.
