"You spin me right round, baby right round like a record" ... Dead Or Alive

Mother's Day Cushion and quote

Deborah Mason

Well you may, or may not have noticed that my blog was missing in action for 2 weeks, this was because my vertigo helpfully decided to come and pay me a call. I could, perhaps (a big perhaps) put up with/understand it, if I was on a cruise ship crossing the Bay of Biscay, as no doubt I would be on my way to a warm and sunny climate for my holidays, (do you have holidays when you're retired ). However when you feel like you're on the ship in a storm force 8 gale, and your not that's a completely different matter, and to take me by surprise as I was just running the vacuum round is just wrong.

I am now pleased to report the ship has docked and my vertigo is no more, giving me the chance to return to my Blog amongst many other things.

Today is Mothering Sunday, I know I am stating the obvious but first of all I would like to say that I understand but cannot feel the pain that this day must bring for Mothers who have lost their children or have been unable to have any and to those who are missing their own mothers.

When I woke up this morning my thoughts turned to the children of Aysha Frade who lost her life in London this week. My heart breaks when I think of them waiting for Mommy to pick them up from school. I cannot begin to comprehend how her husband and children must feel, my thoughts are with them and all the other victims of this atrocity.

I have seen lots of people posting pictures of cards and verses sent from their 4 legged babies, If someone would like to tell Ruby, George and Pushkins (Janet 009 lives) how to do this I would be very grateful as another year passes by without me getting anything from them......

Well that's not really fair, I suppose I had a wonderful welcome when I got up this morning, then there was the moment that Ruby came and gave me a kiss while I was weeding the border and George being George wanted to do the same, but he had just had a drink of water so he slobbered over me instead. We should be more like this, not the slobbering as I don't think that would go down too well, but we should be more spontaneous. Our dogs display behaviour performed without constraint or premeditation, some of it more welcome then others but on the whole how lovely is that life is short enough without all the constraints we put on ourselves ~ I just know that Ruby wouldn't be thinking "In a minute I am going to go over and give her a kiss while she weeds the border, she will like that" she just got up and did it.

Finally we had sad news this week from Little Sally's Mom and Dad, Little Sally was helped over rainbow bridge this week, Sally you were only with your Mom and Dad for 3 months but you will stay in their hearts forever. Thank you to Sally's Mom and Dad for loving Sally and to Kerry (Birmingham Greyhound Protection) for saving her.

On Miss Maggie's website, I may add a rainbow bridge section, If I do and I am allowed then I will add Little Sally to it, well done to Kerry Elliman (BGP) for saving Sally the work you and your team do is absolutely fabulous.

........and finally, finally thank you to my children for the lovely flowers I received today they look and smell beautiful.
