Gift 79: Joey

After having been in a home Hayley was absolutely heartbroken and disgusted that this gorgeous boy had been left like this. He weighed 4 kilos lighter than when he was with Hector's 2.5 years ago.

Joey's mouth was horrific. He had mass infection and kissing lesions which are full of bacteria. He had all but 6 teeth removed.

Joey bled out and had to stay in the vets on a drip overnight to be monitored due to his surgery.

Here is what a kissing lesion is: Chronic Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis (CUPS), also called contact mucositis with ulceration, affects the paradental mucosal tissues that lie next to the teeth. It is very painful. This exposed the roots to his teeth.

The photo is of Joey safely in the care of Hectors following his dental work and overnight stay at the vets. Miss Maggie sent £150 over towards his care.
